For Educators and Parents

GSE  School-level responsibilities

We are making the effort to contact all eligible students regarding the Governor's School of Entrepreneurship. Counselors should receive an email message from Coordinator Ray Lowther asking that they follow new recruiting procedures.

More specifically, counselors are asked to do the following:

  1. Guide career-minded students to apply to the School of Entrepreneurship. Provide information in a letter you will receive to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, using the k12 email addresses.
  2. The counselor provides a signed  official transcript with the attendance record. Please redact Social Security numbers.
  3. There is not a GPA requirement; however, we do expect responsible students.
  4. The principal or assistant principal writes a brief recommendation.
  5. Mailing the application is the responsibility of the student, not the school.

Parent Information

Attending GSE requires commitment on the part of the student and his/her whole family.  The school lasts three weeks, and students are expected to participate in all sessions. If you have specific questions, visit the Q & A page. Then, if you need more information, contact Ray Lowther, ray.lowther@k12.wv.us.

The final deadline for all parts of the application is March 24.
